Neonatal Care Policy Pack

This is a new policy for 2025, following the introduction of the Neonatal Care Leave and Pay Act.

The policy sets out the rights of employees to neonatal care leave and pay following the birth or adoption of their child. It covers:

• what is neonatal care leave
• eligibility and entitlement to leave
• neonatal care pay
• timing and notice requirements
• employee rights during neonatal care leave including keeping in touch
  
• returning to work after neonatal care leave

The form to be used by employees to request neonatal care leave/pay. The guide is for managers to understand more about the policy and how to use it in practice.
